Please note: Some boxes in this series are reported to be missing. The Basket Slough one is reported missing in particular.

Take a road trip with your best letterboxing buddy. Our fav place is Lincoln City. We started in Salem.

Head toward the coast. At the Holman Wayside on Doaks Ferry Rd is box one. Walk up the trail that goes uphill. Behind the restrooms are two large trees on your right. Behind the tree is a large rock with a smaller rock next to it. Box ONE is under the smaller rock.

At the Baskett Slough viewing platform is box TWQ. Sit on the sidewalk at the first fence post near the restroom. In the ground at the base of the post, under a lot of small rocks is box two. Please rehide it well and remember that it will rain eventually.

We stopped for drinks and snacks at the Fast Track gas and convience place. Right after this place, on the right hand side is Fort Hill Rd. Go down that road. On the right you will see three mailboxes, then a drive way, then a Speed 30 sign. At that driveway is a multi trunked tree (small tree) with an evergreen bushy thing near it. In the ground behind the tree, and under a concrete brick is box THREE.

H.B. Van Duzer State Park is where you'll find box FOUR. Go into the north side parking lot. Stand with the restroom on your right and the creek on your left. Take the trail in front of you that will go along the creek. Go down the hill (watch out, Pupp slid down on her butt) and to the gate and fence. Walk along side the fence. On your right will be the biggest tree. Walk behind it and you'll find a cavity big enough to hide a letterbox AND a small car! It's not there. To the left is a smaller tree. Box four is between the roots on the back side (side away from the creek and fence). Take some time to admire all the different types of mushrooms in the area. Pupp was amazed.

Box FIVE is also at the H.B. Van Duzer State Park. This time on the south side. Looking at the restrooms from the parking lot, go left on the asphalt trail. After the first picnic table (well, there was one when we were there!) on the right is a HUGE tree with a small tree with it's root exposed next to it. The box is in the big tree on the back side.

Once we are at the coast, we gotta get to the water as soon as we can! Once in Lincoln City, take the first signal and go right. Travel down that road until you get to the Road's End. Near the restroom, at the corner of the park nearest the Dory Cove Restraunt, is a big piece of driftwood. Box SIX is at the back side of that driftwood, with another piece of wood on top. Please make sure to rehide it carefully as it took Pupp forever to find a place to drop this box.

We always end up at the casino. It's a great place for some free orange juice and to stretch our legs before heading getting down to serious beach play. Go to Chinook Winds. Find the upper parking lot which is the closest to the shopping center. At the very corner of the parking lot, count eight parking spaces to the right. Park there as cars and trucks often provide a barrier to prying eyes. You'll end up in an inverted corner. From the bottom is a large rock, a small rock, then a flat rock. The flat rock will be about two feet high. Of course it was dark when I planted it so I could be wrong. Pull out the flat rock and you'll find box SEVEN whish is also the last box.

Thanks for playing.

Insert Pupp's usual disclaimers here.

Happy Boxing,
