Located just N of M72 W of Grayling about 5-6 miles, on Dollar Lake Rd.
Once on Dollar Lake Rd drive through the wooden square posts. Proceed to a viewing area and park, plenty of room here and yes, up the hill you go. It is a view after all.
After hiking up hill about 255 steps or so, this should put you on top of the area's highest point.
Turn around and enjoy the view while catching your breath. When your lungs and legs are ready to cooperate with your brain, go stand next to the (Transmission Tower) walk 65 steps at a heading of 150 degrees to the tallest tree. From the S side of this tree, CAREFULLY proceed 35 steps at a heading of 120 degrees down a small path over the hill and into the woods.
The prize you seek (No, not an elevator) is hidden here covered and next to a decaying stump.
