Governor Dick tower overlooks the small community of Mount
Gretna in southern Lebanon county. From the PA Turnpike take the Lancaster Lebanon exit. Head north on route 72 towards Lebanon. Approximately 2.5 miles from the Turnpike take the Mount Gretna exit, route 117. In Mount Gretna head south on Pinch road. Approximately 3/4 of a mile on the left is the parking area.
Follow the trail to the tower approximately 1.3 miles. After taking a break at the base of Governor Dick tower begin climbing the ladders. At the top enjoy the view then take a compass bearing of 120 degrees magnetic, look for the large boulder. From the base of the tower go 48 paces to the boulder. Standing on the trail with the boulder behind you walk 12 paces on a compass bearing of 135 degrees magnetic. Look for a downed tree that has fallen towards the tower. Lodged in the exposed root hole, under a rock is the box.
