Outside of Las Vegas, there is a park
Where the rocks are red and the landscape is stark
When you enter there’s a $5.00 fee
After 3:00 pm, you get lucky, it’s free
Stop at the center where visitors go
Meet Mojave Max, he moves so slow!
Get back in the car, take the road that goes ‘round
This little Lost Lizard can’t wait to be found.
Take the drive and enjoy the view
Explore the canyon, if it’s new to you
Past the “High Point Overlook” and look on your right
The Lost Creek Trail exit should come into sight
Turn in and park in the first lot you see
Cross the road, down the stairs, of which there are 3
Follow the trail and it will soon turn red
Up 10 stairs, the box is ahead
The second huge boulder, on the right side
Is where the Lost Lizard likes to hide
Clockwise is the direction you should go
Go to the back and look below
Near a rock with a spot of bright green
A pile of plain rocks can be seen
A black one on top tells you, “You’ve won!”
Uncover and discover…We hope you had fun!
The box is located about 500 feet from the parking lot. Its a good one for kids, but not for strollers or wheelchairs (too rocky, stairs).
(This is in the desert, so take precautions when visiting! Bring a lot of drinking water since none is available once you leave the visitors' center. Rattlesnakes and scorpions are common here...use caution when turning over rocks. Summer temperatures can reach over 115 degrees. In winter, there is frequently snow. Please be careful!!!)
