Please Note: Specific permission for letterboxing has neither been requested of nor granted by the area administrators, so discretion is appreciated.

Grandview, MO has 15 wonderful and diverse parks with amenities for all ages including playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, shelter houses, picnic areas, a skate park, a community center, bike and hiking trails and more. Letterboxes in three of Grandview's parks--Meadowmere, John Anderson, & Freedom--have a central theme with a positive message. Enjoy Grandview's parks and consider visiting nearby Longview Lake while you are in the area.

Meadowmere Park, established in the early 1970's, has 37 acres of parkland and is home to one of two outdoor pools, a skate park and Grandview's Community Center--The View. Plan on 10 minutes of easy walking to find this letterbox.

Directions to Meadowmere Park:
From 71 Hwy, take the Main St exit in Grandview and go east (Main St becomes High Grove Rd.) Go past the high school and a fire station to the stop light at Byars Rd. Go right (south) on Byars to the second entrance into The View. Park near the skate park.

Follow the sidewalk heading south between the skate park and the playground past the shelter houses marked 1 and 2. Continue south between two large grassy mounds and through an opening in the trees to a clearing. Walk through the clearing to a paved bike path. Go right (west) on the bike path past a bridge on your left. Stay on the path (don't cross the bridge) which winds north through a small wooded area until you come to a narrow bridge that crosses a creek going west. Cross the bridge and turn right onto a paved path that heads north past several large multi-trunked trees. Walk 115 to 120 paces down this path, (where one pace is counted each time you step on your left foot, taking the first step with your right foot), to the second multi-trunked tree on the right side of the path. You will find the letterbox underneath some small logs and bark between the trunks of this tree. Please be sure to replace the logs and bark to assure that the letterbox remains well hidden. You can return to the parking lot by crossing back over the narrow bridge and walking through the park between the pool and the playground.
