~9/28/09-AFTER JUST OVER 5 YEARS BEING ACTIVE, I HAVE DECIDED TO RETIRE THIS SERIES. THANKS TO ALL OF THE FINDERS FOR THE MANY WONDERFUL COMMENTS IN THE LOG BOOK.

FLUTTERBY~

****UPDATE 5/30/06****
I am sorry to say that the main character of this series "Pooh" has been reported missing. I will update this note when I get a chance to go out and check for myself.

~~~~~~UPDATE 2/10/06~~~~~~
ALL INK PADS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THESE BOXES.
YOU WILL NEED MARKERS FOR THESE.
EVERYTHING IS DOUBLE-BAGGED FOR PROTECTION.
OWL HAS DECIDED TO 'FLY THE COOP'.
I DO NOT KNOW AT THIS TIME IF HE WILL BE REPLACED.
!!!!!!!!5/14/05-Eeyore has been found and will be replaced in the morning. I repeat, Eeyore has been found and will be replaced in the morning. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*******5/13/05-It is with a very heavy heart that I need to inform all that the final stamp in this series, Eeyore (my personal favorite) has been reported missing : ( The box is still in place, but the stamp itself is gone.***********
This series is located in a wonderful little Conservation Center. There is only one log book for this series. It is in the last box. The trail is muddy in spots.
Directions:
From I-395 take exit 79 and turn onto Route 163 North.After about 2.4 miles turn left onto Chesterfield Road. Go straight at the stop sign. Just after you cross through that intersection you will see Montville Conservation Center on your right. It is marked with a brown sign. Park in the small parking area.
Clues:
DEEP IN THE HUNDRED ACRE WOOD
WHERE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN PLAYS
YOU'LL FIND THE ENCHANTED NEIGHBORHOOD
OF CHRISTOPHER'S CHILDHOOD DAYS
A DONKEY NAMED EEYORE IS HIS FRIEND
AND KANGA AND LITTLE ROO
THERE'S RABBIT AND PIGLET AND THERE'S OWL
From the parking lot, when facing the mapboard, take the trail all the way to the right. You will pass through two large rocks. Travel a little ways down until you come to a path on your left. Go 14 paces down this path and stop. On your right you will see a trio of trees. Go to them and you will find Pooh tucked into the roots under a rock.
Retrace your steps back out to the path you started on and go left. Keep walking until you come to a ~5 foot stump on the right next to the trail. Take a reading of 80 degrees and go to the tree that's 15 steps away. In it's hollow under a rock is Piglet.
Continue on the trail in the direction you were heading. Soon you will encounter Fox Brook running on your right. Continue on until you come to a great Beech tree. Stop. Look left. You will see a "bent knee" tree and a path on your left. Take it and go to the triple trunk tree a short ways down on the right. Look in the crotch for Owl. Please be sure to hide this box on both sides. THIS IS THE BOX THAT IS MISSING.
Go back to the great Beech and head left. You'll come to a T. Go left. In just a few steps there will be a path on the right. Take it. When you come to a Y, bear right. Shortly after this you'll see on your right five trunks in a clump. In the center of these, under a rock, you'll find Rabbit.
Continue westward on the path until you come to a tree with three red circles on the left. Stop. Turn around and go back ten paces. Look right at the stonewall and go to it. There is a dead tree over the wall here. From the dead tree look about 5 feet to the left, low in the wall, after a mostly moss-covered rock. Here you will find Kanga and Roo.
Proceed in the direction you were going in. At the next intersection bear left until you get to four benches on the left. Look past the benches to another stonewall where you will find Tigger. Look in the wall in front of an oak that has a 2 footish dead trunk attached to it.(THIS 2 FOOT DEAD TRUNK IS GONE, BUT YOU CAN STILL SEE WHERE IT WAS.)
Keep going on the same path you were on. Turn to the left at the next Y intersection. Soon you will see your vehicle in front of you. Keep on going straight. Just before stepping back into the parking area, notice a large rock on your right. Go to the south side to find Eeyore (Flutterby's personal favorite). This box has the log book. Please rehide carefully as this is so close to the parking area.
