Difficulty: Very easy half-mile walk.

Driving directions: From Rt 16 in North Conway turn west (left if headed north on Rt 16) onto River Road and continue over a couple of bridges and past the intersection with West Side Road and past the signs for Cathedral Ledge and at about two miles look for the brown sign for the parking area on your left.

Background: The baths are a jumble of boulders and potholes in Lucy Brook near what was an old grist mill site. This is the beginning of the Moat Mountain Trail. This letterbox is called "Diana's Bath Too" because there is another one nearby placed by Tweety and Mr. Coon which can also be found on letterboxing.org.

Directions to the box: Follow the path to the Diana’s Baths. Shortly after you cross the hockey stick bridge you reach what is actually a T intersection with the old Moat Mountain Trail and the mill site is in front of you. Turn right and continue approximately 50 paces, with Lucy Brook on your left, until you reach the sign for the North Moat Mountain Trail. From the sign, follow the trail for approximately 150 paces. At that point, follow a trail to the right (at fork) along a brook. Go another 50 paces until you come to a large boulder on the left of the trail. To the left of the boulder is a tall pine tree with a rock at its base between its roots. Your prize in in the crevice behind the rock. Stamp up and then head back to the "Baths" and enjoy!

This letterbox, and several others in the area, has been placed by the Mud Bowl Gang...Jay, Linda, Roger, Rosemary, Davey, Pumpsie, Joanne, Janet, Jacqui, Paul, Patti, Colin, Mary Beth and Sarah.

September, 2005 UPDATE: We are very pleased that so many people have visited this letterbox that we had to place a new journal in the box. The old one was full of stamps from as far away as Alaska and Scotland! Wahoo!

Best regards,

Jay & Linda & the rest of The Mud Bowl Gang
