He was shortish. And oldish.
And brownish. And mossy.
And he spoke with a voice
that was sharpish and bossy.

Mister! he said with a sawdusty sneeze,
I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees.
I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.
And I´m asking you, sir, at the top of my lungs--
he was very upset as he shouted and puffed--
What´s that THING you´ve made out of my Truffula tuft?

Look, Lorax, I said. There´s no cause for alarm.
I chopped just one tree. I am doing no harm.
I´m being quite useful. This thing is a Thneed.
A Thneed´s a Fine-Something-That-All-People-Need!

Find the nature trail in Pfieffer Big Sur Park (it starts near the lodge) in between the maker for the redwood grove and the marker for the redwood trees on the opposite side of the trail (the hill side) you will see a (not huge) redwood tree slightly up the hill with a hole leading under it’s roots tucked underneath you will find it. Ask in the lodge if you can’t find a trail flyer that has the identifications of the markers (they are to the left of the bridge in the grove usually). This is close to the road and a popular trail so please use discretion when retrieving it.

This is a very kid friendly trail, not long and fun to learn about the different plants and trees.
