Welcome to the New York State Thruway Letterbox Series! This is the perfect opportunity for those traveling in western New York State to take frequent breaks and, most importantly, to find some letterboxes. Each box is a drive by which will provide you with numerous opportunities to learn about the Empire State. Enjoy your trip and New York State!

Have you ever wondered which fish is the state fish of New York? Here is your chance to find out! Find the Historic New York marker (big, blue sign) at the Junius Ponds Travel Plaza, mile marker 324, on west bound I90. The NY State Fish letterbox is located on the left post of the Historic marker. Easy! Please be aware of who is around while finding, stamping and returning the letterbox. Please bring your own pencil and ink pad. Happy trails!

August 3, 2005 - replaced log during routine maintenance so you can find the fish and stamp in!
