Pixie Trail-replaced 7/13/06. LbNA #10797

The Pixies have done it again!! Another letterbox has been hidden by the Fairies and Fauna of Locust Grove and they invite you to come and explore their woodlands. If you haven't yet found their FAIRY WATERFALL letterbox, follow those directions to Locust Grove on Rt. 9 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Start off on the Lane Loop and follow the trail to the Copper Mine Trail on the right. You will stay on the Copper Mine Trail as it weaves through the woodlands, but here are some guides for you: *Pass by two criss-crossed logs which have been cut to clear the path *Go left around a bend, passing by a large decaying tree on your left *Pass a swampy area on your right, and follow the path up a small incline and around a bend to the left *Start downhill and notice the Sunfish Cove on your right. A fieldstone wall will also be on your right. Notice a fallen tree which lays across the fieldstone wall. * Follow the trail to the end of this fallen tree. About 6 steps down the path will be a dead tree stump on the right of the path. Behind it grows a large tree. Peek behind the base of this tree and there lies the fairies' box! These boxes were placed with children and stoller in tow, so they are "little people" friendly.
