Less than 5 miles south of Thomas, on Rt. 219 south (7.5 miles north of Parsons on Rt. 219) there is a roadside park /scenic overlook. You may park here. This is a beautiful view of the mountains of West Virginia. Feel free to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the view of the mountains and nearby windmills. From the parking lot walk past the picnic tables to the lower west corner of the park. Go into the woods about 29 paces down a path. You will see a cement block shaped like a trapezoid about 2 1/2 feet high. From the block use a compass to get a bearing of 63 degrees. Go about 9 paces to a large tree stump. The box is under the tree stump.
