~I went out and checked on this series today (9/23/07).

The second box, Bert, appears to be missing. His home of a hollow bottom tree has been cut down by the forester and there is no evidence of this letterbox 8-(

There are no longer ink pads in ANY of these letterboxes.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT THE ENTIRE LETTERBOX INSIDE OF A PLASTIC BAG.
DOUBLE BAG THE LOG BOOK.
THE ORIGINAL LOG BOOK WAS DAMAGED BY WATER DUE TO IT NOT BEING PUT IN A BAGGIE AT ALL!!!~

We had a great time coming up with this series and we hope that you enjoy it also. Just to let you know there is only one log book. It is in the last box.

Directions:
From Route 16 in Lebanon turn onto Goshen Hill Road. Travel down this about 7 tenths of a mile and turn right into the Bartlett Brook Wildlife Management Area. Go down the gravel drive to the parking area on the left. Park here.

Clues:
Go to the brown signboard. You will see a path that travels over a stonewall. That is the one you will be taking.Once you go over the wall turn left and go down the'Street'.

You will see a field on your left and the trees line the other side. Soon you will come to a stonewall on the left. Look at the end that you first came to. Behind the rock door you will find Ernie. He is going to help you hike along.

Of course wherever Ernie is, Bert is never far away. Continue down the 'Street' 50 steps and stop. You will see a large tree on the right with a large hollow in it. Look in the hollow to find Bert.

Continue along the 'Street' starting to climb uphill. You'll see ledges off to your right. When you crest the hill, look for a small stump on the right. At this spot go up the embankment to a stonewall. Go through the opening in the wall and turn right. Look for Cookie Monster at the wall's end nearest you.

Come and play
Everything's A-OK
Friendly neighbors there
That's where we meet

Go back to the 'Street'. You'll soon see a logging road on your left. Just past this is another wide trail on the right. From the wide trail go 5 paces on the 'Street'. Stop and look to the right. You will see a tree with a hollow in it at about chest height. The tree is 17 steps off the trail. This is where you will find Big Bird. He is nestled in the ground behind this tree, under a rock.

Back to the 'Street'. You quickly come to another wide road on the right with a clearing. Enter it and turn left. Go along the stonewall for 14 steps. At this spot look in the stonewall behind two small, flat rocks for Herry Monster.

Go back to the 'Street' and continue walking. You'll see a large rock on the left side of the 'Street'. Take a seat. Look over your right shoulder and see a small Beech tree about 20 feet away. Look behind this tree, under a rock for Oscar The Grouch. Now, 'GO AWAY'.

It's a magic carpet ride

What a beautiful

Once back on the 'Street' you'll see another large rock on the right side this time. Sit on it facing the 'Street'. The large tree directly to your right is where you will find Snuffy hiding under a rock.

Back on the 'Street' you are now looking for- I loveable, furry , old Grover am the monster at the end of this series. You'll find him right before the curve of the 'Street'. Just a little ways down there's a 2 1/2 foot stump on your right next to the stonewall. Look inside to find Grover. Please rehide this box well with leaves and rocks.

Now head back down the 'Street' towards where you parked your car. Passing all of the people in the neighborhood. Feel free to wave and say hello. Keep walking until you come to a green gate. STOP here. Turn around and walk 15 steps. At this spot look left at the stonewall. The name of the 'Street' that you've been walking on awaits you in the wall. The log book is in this box. Please be sure to reseal everything and rehide well.
