Once upon a time, in a land called Maine, there lived a dragon. He protected a smiling farm where all the children could come and play with him. He loved the children very much, and often played games with them and let them climb on his back. One day the dragon decided to hide a treasure for the children to find. He thought and thought about what his treasure would be, and then it came to him. He would hide a letterbox! He decided that he would have a grand party and invite all the children in the land. At the party, he would have a contest, and each person who found his box would win a prize! He sent out this invitation:
Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
It is with great honor that I invite you to find my treasure. When you find me, sit a while and enjoy the land around you. Be sure to visit the baby goats. They love company! After you have said “hello”, turn facing the dairy/store. This is where my treasure awaits, but you will have to be careful! Many people will be around. You will notice a tree to the right of the entrance. Look near this tree, and you will find your prize. Please replace my box with great care. After you are done with my treasure hunt (I hope you enjoyed it), go into the store and taste the wonderful flavors of ice cream that the people of my land make everyday.
