As of Nov. 6, 2004, this LB was still in its correct location, but I have revised the clues slightly. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HIDE THE BOX AS WELL AS IT WAS ORIGINALLY HIDDEN WHEN YOU LOCATE THE BOX - INCLUDING COVERING IT UP WITH LEAVES, STICKS, ETC. Thanks.

This is the first in a series of birthplaces of Minnesotans who are famous or were famous at one time. This famous Minnesotan was born on May 24, 1941 in this Minnesota city. When he was 6 years old his family moved to the Iron Range in northern Minnesota. Some of his famous songs include "Blowin' in the Wind", "The Times They Are-A-Changin", "Like a Rolling Stone", "Rainy Day Women" and "Lay Lady Lay". His stamp is hidden in a park on the northern end of the city. The park is named after a river that flows to the lake by this city. Next to the park is a municipal golf course that has the same name as the park. The park is long and narrow. As soon as you turn off the main street into the park, there will be a parking lot on the left. A few feet down the road will be another parking lot on the left. Park in this second lot and as you face the river, take the trail to the right along the river. Shortly, you will come to a wooden bridge that goes across the river. Go across the river, climb the stairs to the top and continue following the trail. Soon the trail wiill cross another trail. Make a left turn at the crossroads and follow this trail until you eventually come to a trail that veers off to the left at an angle. Take the few steps(tree branch and dirt make up the stairway) and then there will be a Y in the trail. Take the trail to the right, but count 26 paces from the the Y point (where the two trails in the Y separate.) At 26 paces on your right will be a birch tree with three trunks, but one of the trunks will be broken off about 15/20 inches from the base. Behind this birch will be two birch logs on the ground and they cross each other close to the tree. Look under the branch on the side away from the path and close to where they cross each other. Under the leaves and bark, you will find the letterbox. Happy hunting!
