UPDATE - checked on 28 July 14 - box is gone, clue archived.

Placed by jagel

WHERE: Brandywine Creek State Park at Thompson Bridge Road.
Parking lot is at the bridge over the Brandywine, adjacent to the river.

*** Good for kids. We placed it with the "help" of two
toddlers.

Begin: Park in the lot and start your walk down the wide gravel path (southeast direction).

On the right, look for a stone ring around a big tree – a tree that is one but looks like two.

Of the three trails, take the one most traveled.

After crossing the bridge, take the left trail.

At the “y”, take the path marked by a tree that looks like three.

Hike up the hill.

Keep going up hill. When you pass through a meadow clearing you will be getting close.

From the far edge of the meadow, take 52 child or 40 adult steps to the big rock island in the river of stones.

Just off to the left is a game trail.

Just a few yards up that trail is a brownish (in some light it will look “orange”) rock, which stands guard before the "letterbox" hidden within a triangle of small trees.

Hope you enjoyed your walk among the pines!
