This is a combination letterbox/geocache so the box contains items to trade as well as a stamp and log book. If you don't want to trade anything that's OK. I put in two separate log books, one for letterboxing and one for geocaching.

The letterbox is located in the Wayne-Washington Lookout Park in the Town of Stony Point. The land was purchased by the Open Space Institute and transferred to the town. It commemorates the spot where Generals Anthony Wayne and George Washington planned the attack on the British fort at Stony Point on July 6, 1779.

Its a small park in the middle of a new housing development. Although the signs say that the roads leading to the park are private, I was assured by the Town Hall that the park is open to the public and you are allowed to drive on these roads; you are guests of the Town.

Part of the challenge of this letterbox is finding the park. The entrance is off Soluri Lane. Park across from the park sign and follow the unmarked, but obvious trail to the lookout. There you will find two benches and an American flag. From the benches walk to the double trunked tree on your right. From that tree you will see another double trunked tree, again on your right. From the second tree at a bearing of 220 degrees walk to a rock outcropping and there it is. It's close to the road and nearby houses so use stealth when stamping in. I hope you enjoy the view.
