Directions: From RT.6 turn onto South Frontage RD. Then turn onto Ross RD. then you will make a right at the Ross" Pond sign. just keep following the brown signs that say Ross" Pond boat ramp. When you get all the way down to the boat ramp you can park anywhere just don"t block the ramp. Now standing looking at the boat ramp their will be a trail to your left, you will see two rocks with blue dots that's where it starts. Enter the trail and you will come to a T take a right, you will be walking with the pond on your right. You will pass a tiny path to your left but keep going straight, then you will pass a few more paths two, going up a hill and one heading to the water but you stay on the main trail. Then it will round the bend to the left and you will come to a Y take a right. Soon you will go up a little hill and pass through a grove of mountain laurel and every once and awhile you will pass little orange sign on the trees stating leaving state propertiy but your ok on the trail, the trail is all on state property. Keep going and the trail will bend to the right going down hill and then to the left going up hill and then back down again. Soon you will pass through a stone wall and then a small stream, make your way across and go through yet another stone wall staying on the path keep going and you will come to a stone wall again. From here you can hear the sounds of the highway, continue on and you will go over a highway run off ramp for water. Then go over a tunnel that lets the water under the highway, stay on the path all along the back side of the pond you will come to a stream bed rounding the pond cross and keep to the trail. Then you will twist and turn through another grove of mountain laurel (Notice the ledges to your left this is the beginning of Ross" cliff). Soon you will come to a stone wall that will run parrallel with the trail, NOTICE the seven white tall soldiers standing all together on the opposite side of the wall the Letterbox is behind those trees under some sticks and a rock. To return keep following the trail and you will come a T with a trail marked with blue dots take a right and continue on until you come to another T and you also take aright here as well. You will then come to a fork, go right and cross over a little stone wall and then a path to your right but stay with the blue dots then you will pass through a stone wall, you will come to a T and you turn left here now just follow back to your car.
